Conjunction - Kinds




 KINDS  OF  CONJUNCTIONS :--

    1. Co-ordinating Conjunction
    2. Sub-ordinating Conjunction

  1. CO-ORDINATING   CONJUNCTIONS :--

    They join words or sentences of equal rank or importance; as,
    * Hemant is a good teacher and speaker.
    * I was annoyed, still I kept quiet.
   
    List of co-ordinating conjunctions:--

    And, but, or, nor, only, then, therefore, for, yet, as well as, no less than, otherwise, or else, whereas, nevertheless, notwithstanding,
    either...or, 
    neither...nor, 
    both...and, 
    not only...but also, etc.

  2. SUB-ORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS :--

    They join words or sentences of dependant rank ; as,
     * Rama failed because she did not work hard.
     * We eat so that we may live.
    List of sub-ordinating conjunctions :--
    Before, after, till, until, though, although, because, when, if, unless, that, so that, as if, as though, then, than, since, lest etc.
